And Another

So here is the second scarf. Again a hand rolled hem.

I knit the Shy Sheep Vest in handspun that is a tad on the scratchy side. The only place I really notice is at the sides of my neck if I am wearing a collarless shirt. This scarf will be the little bit of protection I need in that area.

Did you do that hand-rolled hem yourself then? I would like to be able to do that on hankies to get them ready for tatting, but found my effort very unsatisfactory...I tried though...grin.

Wow, how lovely. Doing the whole thing from beginning to end - how satisfying, I should imagine. When I retire, I tell, myself, I'm going to get back to embroidery and maybe patchwork. Meanwhile I shall enjoy your work.

Yes Maggie, I did the hem myself. My first try was a dismal failure but I found that changing my hand postion made all the difference in the world. It helped to have the rolled edge toward me and the sewn edge away rather than the other way, which is how it was illustrated in a sewing book.
