Almost Home!

She's almost home. The new to me, 4 shaft, 36", Nilus Leclerc Artisat floor loom with a sectional warp beam.........got as far as the drive way.

Then the dratted hockey game started.

I was having a shower last night wondering whether you'd got your loom.

It wouldn't have gone in the back of my car, I would have to have hired a van to pick up the one that I (still) didn't buy. Not that I'm still thinking about it of course.

If I had to rent a van to pick up a loom I likely would have passed at the time and then kicked myself later too, Caroline. In fact, I DID pass on this very loom only a year or two ago. A guild member was moving and she couldn't fit all her looms in her new, smaller home. She loves this loom but with it's narrower weaving width (36") and folding feature (making it unsuitable for the heavy beating required for rugs) it was the least versatile of her flock and had to go. Another guild member picked it up at that time. In the following year the new owner ended up having foot surgery and now thinks that the lighter treadling of a counter marche loom would be a better choice for her. She also has moved up to a 45" loom.

The Artisat has turned out to be even better than I expected. It doesn't take up as much of the small bedroom as I expected. Even with the loom fully extended there will be space for a cot when the grandchildren sleep over. Hopefully a cover over the loom and a stern warning will be enough to keep curious children from terrorizing the poor loom.

Really Paula? I'm rarely in the same room when a hockey game is on.

I have that exact same loom, given me by a neighbor and about to get given away to someone else. And a 45" LeClerc countermarch, from my mom.

How exciting! Bet you can't wait to get it set up and use it.
